Wedding Invite

A friend asked me to whip up a quick wedding invite. The couple supplied the little sketch at the top that I think is pretty cute. I learned how to do scallops which I think made it so cute.

My brother-in-law is an amazing musician. I offered to put a flyer together really quick and this is what I came up with. I love the picture I found of the indians. I'm going to teach Matt how to do these himself, I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

Cate's blog design I ended up with after she mentioned that Collin might love having dinosaurs on there.

This was my first Idea but I wasn't completely happy with it. It's fabric I scanned and I couldn't get enough of it scanned to make it the size I wanted.

Rainey's Thesis Paper

My sister is smart! She wrote a thesis paper that her teacher wants to publish so she asked me to come up with a cover for it.

She went with the top one which I agree. In the design I was going for the retro and modern girl coming together in the middle with an upspring of creativity, self esteem and light. Isn't that what it looks like. It was fun to do anyways.

Boys need cards too

I've been working on some business cards for my sister Rainey and thought while I was at it I would make some 'business' cards for my nephews. They are so cute they need something to hand out to all the ladies who like them. I just need to teach them to say when handing them out "don't call me, I'll call you". I've been doing girly designs lately so it was fun to do a guy design for a change.

Photobooth - Blog

Can you tell what my new favorite thing is? That's right photo booths. I saw on someones blog they have an old one at the K-mart in Orem. I went there today with Ike and spent 3 dollars (plus 1 dollar they booth ate) and came away with a bunch of super cute pictures, which I immediately had to turn into a new blog banner and background for Ike's blog.

Kat - Banner

My friend Kat has a thing for Art Nouveau and Pin Up girls from the 50's, some may say odd mix, I say it's right up my ally. That's why without her asking I whipped up this sweet little banner for her. She loved it.

Sarah - Banner

My friend Sarah has a super popular blog and when she was ready for a redesign she came to me. She was going for a newspaper headline look since she also writes for In Weekly.

Here are a few of the preliminary ideas we didn't end up going with but that I also thought were pretty cute.

My friend Jen has 4 boys so I took pictures of each of them off her blog and made her this fun banner. Then she made blogs for her two oldest boys and I couldn't resist making banners for each of them.

This is a banner and Background I recently used on my blog. I thought it looked a little wedding-ish but then it was my anniversary so I thought it appropriate for the occasion.

DLX Design

I've decided to start a Design blog. It is for me to show off my designs I've been working on as well as for people to find me if they want to commission some work. I've done a lot of graphic design over the years as well as photography. I have a BFA in Photography from BYU which I haven't been using lately. But now that I have some free time I thought it might be fun to try to find some work for blogs through blogs. I've been designing banners and backgrounds for blogs, party invites as well as brochures. Really anything you need I can come up with a design for.
